Of Montreal live on Minnesota Public Radio · Oct 9, 08:52 PM by Don

Last Friday, Kevin Barnes and Bryan Poole (a.k.a. BP Helium) of Of Montreal played live on Minnesota Public Radio’s show, The Current. They played three songs: a cover of Lindsay Buckingham’s “Trouble,” a new song, “Feminine Effect,” and a cover of the Who’s “The Kids are Alright.” The new song is slated to appear on the next OM longplayer, Skeletal Lamping, which is not due until October 2008.
I found the band’s recent Milwaukee appearance to be one-dimensional, consisting primarily of longer, groove-oriented rock songs. I would have appreciated a fewer mellow moments integrated into the set list. But this radio appearance sated me for the most part.
Be sure to listen to the entire appearance to hear two interview segments. Listen for a Barnes zinger re: Michael Stipe of R.E.M.
